Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to Essential 3D Prints.
These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of our website, purchases made through our online store, and any custom 3D printing or 3D design services provided by Essential 3D Prints.
By accessing our website, placing an order, submitting a custom print request, sending a model file, requesting design work, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, please do not use our website or place an order.
These Terms and Conditions should be read together with our other policies, including our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Returns and Refunds Policy, FAQ, and any product-specific information shown on our website.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. Australian businesses must comply with consumer guarantees, and store terms cannot override those rights.
2. Business Information
This website is operated by:
Business Name: Essential 3D Prints

3. Our Products and Services
Essential 3D Prints provides finished 3D printed products and related services, including:
- Made-to-order 3D printed products sold through our online shop
- Custom 3D printing from customer-provided model files
- 3D design and print services based on customer ideas, sketches, measurements, reference images, or requirements
- Simple custom parts, personalised items, decorative objects, display pieces, hobby accessories, organisers, replacement-style parts, basic prototypes, and modified designs
We focus on finished 3D printed products. We do not sell 3D printers, printer parts, or filament.
4. Made-to-Order Products
All products sold by Essential 3D Prints are made to order.
This means each product is produced after an order is placed. This allows us to offer a wider variety of colours, sizes, variations, and custom options than would usually be possible with pre-made stock.
Because products are made to order:
- Production time is required before dispatch
- Production time may vary depending on the product, colour, size, complexity, material availability, current order volume, and print time
- Colours may vary slightly due to material availability, supplier batches, lighting, and screen display settings
- Product photos are provided as a guide and may not represent every possible colour, variation, or minor finish difference
- Small differences may occur between individual prints
By placing an order, you acknowledge that made-to-order 3D printed products may not be identical to mass-produced or injection-moulded plastic products.
5. Orders and Payment
Orders for standard products are placed through our online shop checkout.
Custom 3D printing and 3D design jobs may be arranged through our online shop, quote requests, email, contact form, manual invoice, or another agreed method.
Payment is required before pre-production work begins. Pre-production work may include, but is not limited to:
- Order review
- Model review
- File preparation
- Design work
- Model repair or modification
- Slicing configuration
- Material preparation
- Printer preparation
- Customisation work
- Production scheduling
We reserve the right not to begin production, design work, or custom preparation until payment has been received and the order or quote details have been confirmed.
All prices are listed in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise.
6. Order Review and Acceptance
After an order or custom request is submitted, we may review the details before production begins.
We may contact you if:
- Required information is missing
- A selected colour or material is unavailable
- A model file appears unsuitable for printing
- A product or custom request requires clarification
- Additional design, preparation, or printing work is required
- The request may not be suitable for the intended use
- The request falls outside the services we provide
We reserve the right to decline, cancel, or refund an order or custom request if we reasonably believe we cannot complete it safely, legally, practically, or to an acceptable standard.
7. Cancellations and Changes
You may request a cancellation or change after placing an order, but approval depends on whether work has already started.
If pre-production, production, post-production, or fulfilment work has not started, cancellation or changes may be possible.
Once work has started, cancellation or changes may not be possible or may incur additional costs.
For the purpose of these Terms:
Pre-production may include:
- Order review
- Custom request review
- Model review
- File checking
- Model preparation
- File repair or modification
- Design work
- Customisation
- Slicing configuration
- Material preparation
- Printer preparation
- Production scheduling
- Communication and project setup
Production may include:
- Printing
- Cooling
- Removing the item from the print surface
- Initial print assessment
Post-production and fulfilment may include:
- Post-print processing
- Cleanup
- Finishing where required
- Quality checking
- Packing
- Creating shipping labels
- Preparing the order for dispatch
- Dispatching the parcel
Because all products are made to order, we do not guarantee cancellation or changes after work has begun.
If a cancellation is approved after work has started, any refund may be reduced to reflect work already completed, costs incurred, materials allocated, payment processing fees, and time spent.
If an order has not been dispatched and shipping has not been used, unused shipping charges may be refunded where applicable.
This does not affect any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
8. 3D Printed Product Characteristics
3D printing is a layer-by-layer manufacturing process. By purchasing from Essential 3D Prints, you acknowledge that 3D printed products may include:
- Fine layer lines
- Minor surface texture
- Small cosmetic variations
- Slight colour differences
- Small differences between prints
- Minor marks, surface differences, or finish variations caused by the printing or post-print processing process
- Differences in strength depending on material, design, shape, print direction, and intended use
- Slight differences between product photos and the final printed item
These characteristics are normal for 3D printed products and do not automatically mean a product is faulty.
We aim to produce clean, reliable, and well-finished prints, but 3D printed items should not be expected to look or perform exactly like mass-produced injection-moulded plastic products.
9. Custom 3D Printing
We may provide custom 3D printing from customer-provided files.
Accepted or reviewable file types may include:
- STL
- 3MF
- OBJ
- STEP
- SVG
- Other suitable 3D model or design/reference files
Not every file is suitable for 3D printing. Customer-provided files may require review, scaling, repair, strengthening, splitting, redesign, or other preparation before printing.
We may identify issues such as:
- Thin or fragile sections
- Incorrect scale
- Missing or broken surfaces
- Non-manifold geometry
- Unsupported details
- Weak points in the design
- Details too small to print clearly
- Shapes requiring excessive support material
- Unsuitability for the intended use
If a file is not suitable for printing exactly as supplied, we may contact you to discuss options. Additional design, repair, preparation, or printing work may incur extra charges.
You are responsible for ensuring that any file provided is accurate, complete, correctly scaled, suitable for your intended purpose, and legally permitted to be printed.
10. 3D Design Services
We may provide 3D design services based on customer needs, including work from ideas, sketches, measurements, reference images, drawings, or existing files.
Design services may include, but are not limited to:
- Simple custom designs
- Product modifications
- Personalised designs
- Basic prototypes
- Replacement-style parts
- Decorative designs
- Hobby accessories
- Functional parts, subject to review
The customer is responsible for providing accurate and complete information, including measurements, intended use, fit requirements, colour preferences, reference images, and any other relevant details.
Design work may require additional time, cost, testing, revisions, or clarification. Complex designs may require a separate quote.
Unless agreed in writing, purchasing a design-to-print service means you are purchasing the finished printed item, not the digital design files.
11. Ownership of Digital Design Files
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all digital design files, working files, modified files, prepared files, slicing files, and design concepts created by Essential 3D Prints remain the property of Essential 3D Prints.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- 3D model files
- CAD files
- Modified customer files
- Design drafts
- Internal working files
- Print preparation files
- Slicing files
- Production settings
Digital files are not automatically included with a printed item.
If you require ownership, transfer, licensing, or a copy of a digital file, this must be discussed and agreed in writing before the project begins. Additional fees may apply.
12. Customer Files, Intellectual Property, and Permissions
You must only submit files, images, sketches, drawings, references, or design requests that you own, created yourself, have permission to use, or are legally allowed to reproduce.
By submitting any file, image, sketch, reference, or design request, you confirm that:
- You have the legal right to use it
- You have permission to have it printed, modified, or reproduced
- The request does not infringe copyright, trademarks, patents, designs, or other intellectual property rights
- The request does not involve illegal, prohibited, or restricted items
We are not responsible for intellectual property infringement caused by customer-provided files, images, references, instructions, or design requests.
We may refuse or cancel requests that appear to involve unauthorised copying, protected designs, branded items, copyrighted characters, trademarked products, patented items, or other third-party intellectual property.
We do not sell customer-provided model files.
Customer files may be used for reviewing, preparing, modifying, slicing, printing, producing, communicating about, or fulfilling the requested order unless otherwise agreed.
13. Prohibited and Restricted Items
Essential 3D Prints does not design or print certain categories of items.
We do not design or print:
- Weapons
- Firearm parts
- Illegal items
- Medical devices
- Electrical safety parts
- Automotive safety parts
- Load-bearing safety parts
We may also refuse requests that we reasonably believe are unsafe, unlawful, unsuitable, high-risk, infringing, or outside our capability.
If a customer requests a design or print for a functional, mechanical, regulated, or safety-related purpose, the customer is responsible for obtaining appropriate professional advice, testing, certification, or approval before use.
14. Safety and Use Limitations
Unless expressly stated otherwise, our products are intended for general decorative, hobby, organisational, display, and light practical use only.
Unless specifically discussed and agreed in writing, our products are not suitable for:
- Food contact
- Medical use
- Electrical use
- Automotive use
- Load-bearing use
- Structural use
- Safety-critical use
- High-temperature environments
- Outdoor exposure
- Water pressure or waterproof applications
- Children’s safety products
- Any use where failure could cause injury, loss, damage, or safety risk
You are responsible for determining whether a product is suitable for your intended purpose.
Essential 3D Prints, its owner, and staff are not liable for damage, injury, loss, or failure caused by misuse, incorrect installation, unsuitable application, modification, exposure to unsuitable conditions, or use outside the stated or intended purpose.
15. Measurements, Fit, and Functional Requirements
For custom printing, replacement-style parts, design services, or items that must fit another object, the customer is responsible for providing accurate measurements and requirements.
We are not responsible for poor fit, incorrect scale, incompatibility, or unsuitable function where the issue results from inaccurate, incomplete, unclear, or missing customer information.
Where a precise fit, engineering performance, load capacity, heat resistance, water resistance, or functional performance is required, this must be discussed before ordering.
We do not guarantee a product will be suitable for a specific functional purpose unless that suitability has been expressly agreed in writing.
16. Product Descriptions and Images
We aim to ensure product descriptions, images, prices, colours, and options are accurate and up to date.
However, minor differences may occur due to:
- Screen display settings
- Lighting
- Material availability
- Supplier batch differences
- Print orientation
- Production settings
- Product variation
- Made-to-order production
Product images are for general reference and may show examples only.
We reserve the right to correct errors, update product information, change pricing, or cancel an order if a listing error is identified.
17. Shipping and Delivery
We currently ship within Australia only.
Production time is separate from shipping time. Because all products are made to order, your order must be produced, checked, packed, and prepared for dispatch before delivery begins.
Orders may be shipped using Australia Post, courier services, or other delivery providers where suitable.
Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping information at checkout.
Once an order has been dispatched, delivery is handled by the shipping provider. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping providers, incorrect customer addresses, failed delivery attempts, weather events, service disruptions, or other events outside our reasonable control, unless required by law.
Further details are provided in our separate Shipping Policy.
18. Damaged, Incorrect, or Faulty Items
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, missing an item, or with a suspected fault, please contact us as soon as possible.
For damaged, incorrect, or missing items, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photos of the item received
- Clear photos of the packaging
- Clear photos of the shipping label
- Any other relevant information we reasonably request to assess the issue
We may need to assess the issue before offering a solution.
Depending on the circumstances and your rights under Australian Consumer Law, remedies may include repair, replacement, refund, or another suitable solution.
Normal 3D printing characteristics, such as fine layer lines, minor surface texture, small cosmetic variation, slight colour variation, or minor post-print processing marks, do not automatically mean a product is faulty.
Further details are provided in our separate Returns and Refunds Policy.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
19. Returns and Refunds
Because all products are made to order, we do not accept change-of-mind returns once an item has been produced, customised, prepared, or printed.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Selected colour products
- Selected variation products
- Personalised items
- Custom prints
- Design-to-print projects
- Customer-provided model prints
- Special requests
However, this does not limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
You may still be entitled to a remedy if a product or service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, including where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or not as described. Businesses cannot use store policies or terms to remove consumer guarantee rights.
Further details are provided in our separate Returns and Refunds Policy.

Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law.
22. No Professional Engineering or Certification
Unless expressly agreed in writing, Essential 3D Prints does not provide certified engineering, product certification, compliance testing, safety approval, medical approval, electrical approval, automotive approval, or structural approval.
Any information we provide about possible use, material, strength, or design suitability is general information only and should not be treated as professional engineering, safety, legal, or compliance advice.
